Characteristics of Wealth#3 – Dealing With the Haters

Fear of Failure is an Obstacle to Many - Rhonda Swan

We all have the tendency to fear failing. I mean, who really wants to fail in life? I don’t want to, but I know that it is part of the process that we must all accept. Otherwise, will never achieve anything great.
Since many people stand still in fear, this leads to a state of inaction. They just stay in the crummy circumstances they are living in.
The trouble with standing still in fear is that wealth comes by taking risks. You have to be willing to put it out on the line, otherwise you don’t stand a chance of truly increasing your earnings.

The Benefits of Failing

Failure is not something you should fear, rather a thing you should seek after. We all need to fail in our lives at one time or another, or we will never really know how to do it right.
When it comes to growing a business, personal brand, or any part of a company, you must be willing to move above the status quo. You’ll never get there by standing still in fear of failing.
If it was easy to make it to the top, then everyone would be a millionaire. Am I right? What separates those that are highly successful from where you are today? It is because those people were willing to face their fears and go through the process of failing and trying again.
Failure gives way to lessons and these lessons create a change in your behavior. If you tried it one way and it didn’t work, then you’ll know what to do different the next go round.
Consider it from technology perspective. I am not a techy, but I’ve had to learn enough to make my business successful.
I’ve had to figure out why parts of my websites weren’t working because of broken codes. I’ve also had to to figure out how to use different platforms. This has all been a series of learning experiences.
Sure, a book or an instructor can give you the instructions of how to do something. However, without actually doing it yourself, you will have no experience to draw from. When you work through concepts on your own, you will inevitably fail and through that you will gain a lasting remembrance of what not to do.

That is Why You Should Fail and Fail Fast

Don’t wait around any long. Now is the time to get out there and do what is necessary to grow your business. Sure, you will fail, but go for it. Get those failures out of the way so that you can take hold of the success you are longing for.

Characteristics of Wealth #4- Experiences

Take a Look at the CASHFLOW Quadrant - Rhonda Swan

The CASHFLOW Quadrant is divided into four different types of people.
E= Employee
S= Self-Employed or Specialist in a Field
B= Big Business
I= Investor
So, a look at the quadrant on the left side is the E and S individuals. These guys pay out the most for their taxes and trade by the amount of money and time they put in.
On the other side are the B and I individuals. These guys pay the least in their taxes. They create and/or invest in assets that work to bring in money while they are sleeping, or out on vacation.
I believe that there is a dividing line between the two. One side is struggling to make it in our economy and the other is gaining profits hand over fist.

Employed and Self-Employed Are Struggling

In my opinion, it is the E and S individuals that are struggling the most. These are the employees and self-employed individuals that are having a hard time finding well paying jobs. Not only are the jobs scarce, but there hasn’t been a single year where the cost of living hasn’t raised significantly.
These guys only have their time to trade for a living, which puts them at a disadvantage. Time is not high demand.

Big Businesses and Investors are Prospering

However, those that fall into the B and I category are steadily becoming richer and richer. Big businesses sit on top of endless piles of cash and assets. Investors are able to pick the best of the best assets at low prices.
They have something that is of worth in our economy….money.

What the E and S Quadrant is Holding Out For

Those in the E and S quadrant are waiting for the day that the economy picks up and there are more jobs on the market. Even if that does happen, they are still at the mercy of their bosses to pay them well and keep them on staff.
Until the job market picks up, these individuals will continue to spiral down. They may not have the best chance once the market picks up either.

Those in the B and I Quadrant Do Well No Matter the Circumstances

You know that saying the rich just keep getting richer? Well, that is true of those that are in big business or investors. While the economy is down, they are buying up all the assets as low prices.
When the economy rises, they will continue to cash in on the all the investments they made. Thus, they get richer and richer.

What Side of the Quadrant do You Fall on?

If you are in the E and S side of the quadrant, are you ready to move over? If so, then it is time you put your focus in the right places. Here are some things you can do to get on the other side:
  • Invest in your financial education
  • Begin a side business
  • Start investing for cash flow

You Are a Brand- It’s Time to Share Your Personal Brand With Others

What is a perfect example of a brand? You, my friend, are a brand.
An artist. A photographer. Life coach. Presentation expert. Alternative energy entrepreneur. Website developer. Skin care clinician.
This is not a trend. This is social media, publishing, marketing, sales, work, play, passion and everything you read about all rolled into one.

1. Define your audience.

Tell yourself this: The focus of your blog—and all of your content—must be your readers. What do they need? What are their pains? How can you help them?
Of course, doing guesswork is possible, but chances are, you’ll run the risk of being wrong. One ideal way to removing the guesswork is to conduct a survey. You can ask a few specific questions to uncover demographic and psychographic information.
From the results of your survey, you’ll be able to profile your audience and work toward developing a more focused content with a higher probability of connecting with your readers.

2. Create a clear value proposition.

What is the unique thing that you can offer to your audience? Are they going to get something from investing their time in your content? What resources do you offer? Do you offer resources to help people work smarter? Leadership insights? These are just some examples of questions you should be asking yourself before proceeding.
What you need to do is to create a succinct and simple answer and you have your value proposition. However, you may have to experiment with your value proposition and revise it from time to time.
What will serve as the framework for all your efforts is your clear value proposition .

3. Write a compelling brand slogan.

Always be aware of the level of noise in media today and then recognize how critical it will be to make a strong impression quickly.
A great way to address this challenge is to put your value proposition into a slogan.
Here are some good examples:
  • Lifehacker’s slogan is “Tips, tricks, and downloads for getting things done.”
  • Social Media Examiner claims to be “Your guide to the social media jungle.”
  • Ramit Sethi promises, “I will teach you to be rich.”
  • Feldman Creative promises to “Turn on the power of online marketing.”
Now, how can you summarize your brand promise in a concise slogan?

4. Show yourself.

Of course, the best thing you should remember is that people want to connect with people, not merely brands.
One way is presenting a great photo of yourself which helps establish credibility and build trust. It also helps you connect via social media.
You can do this by simply getting a great headshot that captures the real, authentic you. You can invest in a professional photo shoot or if you prefer not to part with the money, hit up a friend with a quality camera and a command of portrait photography.
Always go into the session with a plan. You have to tell the photographer the impression that you aim to create, the you you’re looking to capture.
After reviewing the photos, pick one headshot to use on your website and across all your social media networks.
  • Working at your computer
  • Analyzing your client’s data
  • Coaching one-on-one
  • Facilitating a small group meeting
  • Recording a podcast
  • Shooting a video
  • Speaking before a large crowd
  • Autographing your book at an event
  • For the photo that will serve you best is simply you looking into the lens smiling, looking friendly and approachable—with no distractions.

5. Establish a look.

Any brand that is memorable, your personal brand included, should present itself consistently. Using a variety of logos, colors, and fonts will confuse your audience.
Develop a look for your personal brand with simply the following:
A professionally designed logo
A pleasing color palette
A limited menu of fonts
Then you can now apply the standards you created to everything—your website, business cards, advertising, etc.
For now, you’re off to a good start….

3 Income Producing Activities You Must Do Each Day

Do you know your DMO? - Rhonda Swan

A DMO is your daily method of operations. When you put into practice daily tasks that will actually produce income, you will get a return on your time investment.
Most people, myself included when I first got started building our business, we focused too much on the how and not the important money making tasks. If you’re building a Network Marketing business, so many get hung up on the product features and the science behind it all, and the compensation plan. How to do social media, building a blog, watching guru videos, studying this and studying that…
The next thing you know, a month has gone by and all of the so called “income producing activities” you were working on, didn’t bring in a dime.

Stop wasting time. Start Making Money.

A lot of us, when we just start out in our home business, have a limited amount of time because we have so many other commitments to attend to. Like a J.O.B., our families, hobbies etc.
Well, if you’re spending all your time doing Non-Income Producing Activities such as the ones listed above, you are setting yourself up for nothing but frustration and disappointment.
I’ve seen many people walk away from online marketing, because they have put in a lot of time without any return. That is why I’m so passionate about giving my tribe step by step instructions of what they can do each day to generate leads and ultimately produce income.

TOP 3 Income Producing Activities You MUST Do Each Day.

In order to break away from the time wasting activities and actually start making money as an online marketer, there are 4 income producing activities that you MUST do every day. It is so important that you focus your energy on the things that will bring in the greatest return.

1. Place Ads To Generate Leads Or Sales

In order to reach your target market with your valuable services, you need to place ads. We run thousands of dollars through our Facebook ads every month to generate our best leads. Through the use of Facebook ads, you can generate warm leads every single day.
Not sure how to place effective ads? We get that question all of the time, which is why we have created videos in the Freedom-preneur Academy that will teach you exactly how to do this.

Here are a few tips to get you started on developing your own lead magnets.

2. Host Webinars, Hangouts, or Use Facebook Live

Everyday, look for ways to give your followers value. One of the best ways to do that is by hosting webinars, hangouts, or use Facebook Live. People want to connect with you on a more personal level while learning from you. Using live stream videos where people can ask you real time questions and you answer is so helpful.
At the end of your webinars, hangouts, and videos, you need to present a call to action. Where can they learn more from you? Lead them to an outlet that you can earn from, such as a lead capture page.
Every Wednesday night, we host the Freedom-Preneur Show in order to add more value to our followers. Each week, we bring on experts that are highly knowledgeable and that can deliver great information to those listening in.

11 Years Ago I Had a Vision to Work From Home

I Keep Moving Forward in My Business - Rhonda Swan

Each and every day, since then, I have had to put one foot forward and stayed focused on my vision. I’ve taken daily actions to become a better person and business owner.
When I started my first business, I called over 3,000 leads and didn’t make a sale…not even a penny.
I invest in myself, my education and listened to those around me that were having success and living the life I wanted.
Three months after starting my first online business, I walked into my boss’ office and said I needed to leave. I told her that I had found a business I could work from home and earn the same amount of money- if not more.
She laughed at me, and told me I would be back. Boy was she wrong.
I focused and built my business for another 3 months, taking daily actions and steps to learn the next move. I had small successes, and used those successes as a stepping stone in my growth.

I Made My Dream of Being a Work From Home Mom Come True

During those 90 days, my life turned around and so did my business. I never went back to the daily grind ever again.
It’s been 11 years since I said “YES!” to my new life, and said “YES!” to helping others achieve their dreams.
Has it been all sunshine and roses? Hardly, but it’s been the most rewarding adventure I’ve ever experienced and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I Share With Others How to Be Successful Business Owners

I’ve just arrived back in Bali after spending 2 weeks in Dubai and the Kingdom of Bahrain. I was able to share my journey with other Freedom-preneurs and had the chance to teach on the 8 Pillars to Online Success.
When we were in Dubai, all of the attendees were there to speak and give their Ted like talks. It was scary for them, because they had to speak in front of their peers and large crowds.
We went to a restaurant so that they could practice their speeches in front of the people that were there. Even though I’ve spent a lot of time on stages, I’ll be honest, it was kind of hard for me.
The goal was to desensitize themselves from caring what other people think. The biggest thing that stops people in their tracks is what people think about them. When others say things to you that affect you negatively, you end up changing the way you live your life.
I’m so thankful that I have worked to overcome what others think of me. The day I told my boss I was leaving and never coming back, she thought I was absolutely crazy. What if I had allowed what she thought of me to dictate my next steps? I wouldn’t be here today, that is for sure.
If someone had told me 11 years ago that I would be on stage speaking life into a crowd of entrepreneurs that have a DREAM to be FREE, and to live as a Freedom-Preneur, I would tell them they are crazy.
This is what having a vision can do for your life and for the life of others.
Don’t be afraid to fail or fall. Get back up and keep moving. Your life awaits you!

Some people watch on the sidelines- others play the game. Are you ready to stop caring what others think about you and boxing yourself into what this world says you have to be? If so, I invite you to check out the Freedom-preneur Academy. I hold nothing back in this training program, so that you are able to make the changes you want to make in your life.

How to Create a Valuable Blog For Your Business

  • Why You Need a Valuable Blog For Your Business - Rhonda Swan

We are in a time where people utilize the internet to learn the information they need. Providing valuable content on your blog is a great way to serve your potential customer. It is very important that you write high quality, consistent posts that add value to your reader’s life.
Another reason you should utilize this outlet is that it allows you to build relationships with your audience.

Valuable Blog Posts Are Highly Shareable

Interesting content is one of the top 3 reasons that people follow brand on social media. When you are writing information that is of high value, people will share it with others. This widens your influence and allows you to reach even more of your target market.

    Become a Proficient Writer

In the business world, it is important that you are able to communicate yourself well with your potential clients. By blogging on a regular basis, you are honing in on your communication skills. When you have committed to reaching your audience through this platform, your overall writing abilities will soar.

How to Write a Killer Blog Post

I think a lot of people shy away from writing a blog, because they aren’t sure what to write about. When you know your brand and have a core message, it can make writing blog content a whole lot easier.
Here are some of the things you need to keep in mind when writing a blog post:

Focus on Adding Value to Your Reader

There are a lot of people that think the market is saturated with content. Here’s the thing- it’s saturated with words, but much of what you read isn’t actually valuable. You need to focu on writing information that your target audience is in desperate need of.
Think about your ideal customer. What is their pain points? Pain points are problems, whether real or perceived. Figure out what your ideal customer has the biggest need of, and speak directly to that.
Not sure what your audience needs? Then consider creating a survey. This is a perfect way to figure out what their problems are and how you can speak directly to it.

    Figure Out Your Writing Voice

It’s super important that you write in such a way that you make a personal connection with people. No one is going to follow cold hard facts. Instead, they will follow someone that has captured their attention- and that is done through your writing voice.
Check out these 3 voice archetypes:
    1. Sage- This is a person that has a lot of experience and can speak with authority on their subject.
    2. Sherpa- This is someone who is a few steps ahead of the reader and can offer insight into things to come.
    3. Struggler- This is the individual that is in the process and willing to share their struggle and recount their current experiences.
No matter where you are in your business, you can offer value to your reader. Don’t think you have to be an expert. Pick the voice archetype the best fits you and stick with it until it changes. There will come a day when you go from Struggler to Sherpa to Sage.

    Create a Good Headline

Crafting the right headline is essential. You need something that will grab the reader’s attention so that they will click on your valuable content.
The other thing to keep in mind when writing a headline, is that it needs to have the keywords you are trying to target. You need to get creative with what you say, but not to the point that the reader isn’t sure what they are about to read.
Consider writing a headline with one of these models-
    • Number sequence- this gives the reader the number of points they are going to read.
    • Provocative question- ask a question that they just have to know the answer to. Write it in such a way that it peaks their curiosity.
    • How to- people will often type in “how to” do a specific task into a search engine. When you write this type of article, you are going to capture their attention.

Which Business Model is Right For You?

I think a growing number of people want to start their own business. Why? Because people are tired of being tied to a job that is draining the life out of them. Also, they don’t want to be told when, where, and how to live.
We see people come to our coaching programs every day that are in the same place we were over 11 years ago. I decided that I wanted to raise my daughter and not put her in childcare. If I were going to stay in the corporate world, I would have had no other choice than to do that.
Starting a business was hands down the best decision Brian and I ever made for our family. We have a passion to help others make the same choice and be successful.
Today, I want to give you a free lesson from our Freedom-Preneur Academy. Drew Innes shares in this lesson about the 4 different business models you can choose from.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i59HZ4pg7xA?list=PL4v1LHx0JCxcTcq-EPsWH43ViY9QGtsDA]

4 Business Models

In the Freedom-preneur movement, it is our goal to help you develop strategies that help you to align with your goals and reach a life that you love. That is why it is so important that you have a good understanding of the different types of business models there are.

1. Personal Products and Services

Some people already have a product or service that they know they are going to offer. These services or products could include:
  • Digital products
  • Online services
  • Cleaning homes
  • Lawn care
  • Coaching
Of course, this is a very small list of things that make up products and services. I wanted to make the distinction here that this is a bit different than a brick and mortar business model, because these are jobs where you meet the customer where they are.

2. Affiliates and Bloggers

Becoming an online affiliate and/or blogger is one of the easiest ways for someone to get started in making money online. It doesn’t require you to have your own products or services to start with. All you will need to do is promote another brand and get paid a percentage of the sales.
For example, if you become a lifetime member of the Freedom-Preneur Academy, you can become an affiliate with us. Through our affiliate program, you can share information about our coaching services, and if someone makes a purchase, we will give you a large commission for it.
Learn more in this video:
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb-Fl2Enxj0]
There are two ways to do this:

Affiliate Marketing

There are some people that sign up as an affiliate for a product and spend all of their focus on selling that product or service. They will develop leadpages, web content, opt-ins, and so on to educate potential buyers about what they are selling.

Develop a Blog

Another great way to be successful in affiliate sales is to develop a blog. This is where you write about your passions and the things that resonate most with you. Then, you find affiliate programs that are in line with your brand messaging and promote it with your audience.
Related post: How to Develop a Valuable Blog For Your Business

3. Affiliation With Business Opportunities

This is another form of affiliate marketing. The top two forms of affiliation with business are multi-level marketing and direct sales.
Basically, you will become an ambassador for a company and sell their products for them. Part of that business model means you bring in others to the company so that they will sell. You will make commission from your sales and their sales, also.
We have an association called the Online Alliance in the Freedom-Preneur Academy that falls under this category. If that is something you would be interested in, be sure to contact me so that I can get you the information you need.

4. Brick and Mortar Businesses

I’m sure you know what a brick and mortar business is, because you likely shop in these on a regular basis. This is where a business owner sets up a location to do their business and the customer comes to them. They also have the ability to send their products and services outside of the location.

Take Your Business Model Global

Here’s one thing to consider, gone are the days where a small business owner has to stay local. You can take some of your services and products, depending on your industry, and make it global.
If you don’t have a position on the internet, you are doing a disservice to your customers. This goes for brick and mortar business just as much as the other business models. You need to be where your potential customers are hanging out.

Utilizing Ascension in All Business Models to Increase Sales

Ascensions is when you Increase customer value so that you can offer more of what people need and want. You can look at many business today and see where there is lost opportunity, because the owners are not maximizing what they offer.
If you don’t understand the role ascension plays, it can cripple your business. When you stop meeting the needs of your customers, you will lose them.
Look at your business and understand what products and services you have today that solve your customers’ problems. As you learn more about them, you will be able to develop more products and services that they need.
Another thing to ask yourself is how to bundle things in a different way to meet more needs. Take existing services and products you own and place them into different groups to target parts of your audience.

What Business Model is Right For You?

You may already have the business model that is right for you figured out. Or, you may be like many of the people that come to us. They know they want to be in business for themselves, but they have no idea what to do.
When you sign up for the Freedom-preneur Academy, we give you all of the tools you need to take your next steps in earning an income on your terms. We also provide you with coaching calls where you can ask questions and we provide you with the feedback that you need.
